We invite you to join NEUROMANCERS incredible community of volunteers. Together we fall in love with (neuro)divergence through building sustainable mental health care programs and community initiatives.

Our volunteer community is split into ‘teams’ or ‘collectives’ who work together on specific projects or hold specific responsibilities within the organisation.

We are open to expressions of interest on a rolling basis, so reach out any time. We’ll also do active recruitments for specific roles throughout the year.

    Open Roles:

    Admin & Operations Coordinator

    The Administrative & Operational Assistant will provide essential support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of NEUROMANCERS.

    This role involves handling administrative tasks, financial coordination, and operational design to improve efficiency across the organization.

    Commitment: Minimum six months.

    Hours: Up-to 5hrs per week .

    Volunteer Coordinator

    The Volunteer Coordinator(s) oversee and support the Research Collective, Care Practice Collective (Peer Support), Media Team, and Membership Team, ensuring volunteers feel valued and engaged. This role involves team management, volunteer support, and fostering a positive volunteer experience.

  • Our Media Team coordinate and design our social media and newsletter.

    Open Role:

    Media & Admin Coordinator

    Our Media & Admin Coordinator(s) support us behind-the-scenes, working both independently and collaboratively. Your main responsibilities will be writing and designing social media posts and newsletters to entertain and inform our community. If you love creating digital content, are chronically online, and passionate about neurodivergent liberation, this may be the role for you!

    Commitment: Minimum six months.

    Hours: Up-to 3hrs per week .

    The goal of this collective is to build practical care skills by coming together to respond to real-life support requests.

Opportunity FAQs

Who is eligible to volunteer?

Our Volunteer Community is incredible varied and diverse. We come from a range of background, speak different languages, and have many unique lived experiences.

To be eligible to join us, you must:

  • Be 16+

  • Identify as neurodivergent+

  • Align with NEUROMANCERS values and philosophy

  • Have access to a device, the internet, and a quiet space

There will be additional criteria for each specific role. Volunteering is always remote.

What are the benefits?

All volunteers will receive training relevant to their role. Volunteers have access to our Volunteer Support Fund, complimentary membership, monthly check-ins, and support from our volunteer coordinator.

You’ll also be part of an incredible community working with and towards autonomous mental health care!

What are the time commitments?

Most volunteers are asked to commit 3hrs per week. For some roles it can be less. We prioritise accessibility and can be flexible.
