About the Care Practice Collective

We are neurodivergent+ peers (just like you!) who come together each month to offer a Care Workshop for someone who needs it.

About Care Workshops

A Care Workshop is a space where a group of neurodivergent+ people come together to help support and strategise around one person’s needs. Think of it like an MOT - just for you and your mind.

Applying for a workshop…

  • Applications are open between the 1st and 8th every month.

  • We’ll get in touch if we can offer you a Care Workshop.

  • A Care Workshop is a space where neurodivergent+ peers come together to offer support to a single human (or system for our plural fam!).

    When you apply, we’ll ask you to share some information about what you’d like help with. Then, we’ll arrange a time and date with you.

    When you arrive to the online meeting room, you will be met with up-to-four friendly peers who will have read your information.

    They will introduce themselves to you. You can then share more information about what you are dealing with. (You can choose to bring a friend if you wish!).

    By the end of your up-to two-hour workshop, we hope you’ll leave feeling a little lighter and more empowered.

    After your personal workshop, we’ll follow up with a feedback form so we can improve our offering.

  • A Care Workshop is a free, one-off session.

    We especially want to help people who are not able to access mainstream forms of mental health support.

    To qualify to apply, you must be:

    • neurodivergent+

    • 18+

    • able to access the internet to join your online Care Workshop.

    Your Care Workshop will be led by you. Generally, we can offer practical support and help you figure out where you can make helpful changes in your life.

    We could…

    • brainstorm solutions and co-think through problems

    • research and gather resources

    • help with life and disability admin

    • hold space for your emotions and feelings

    • watch a film or YouTube video together

    • share in our despair and exhaustion about the world and its problems

    • sit quietly together and do nothing

    • or something else!

    It’s truly your space! You’ll share more about what you are looking for in your application.

  • The Care Practice Collective are neurodivergent+ people with lived experience of mental distress or difficulty who along with NEUROMANCERS values.

  • To qualify to apply / request, you must be:

    • neurodivergent+

    • 18+

    • able to access the internet to join your online Care Workshop.

    The workshop will take place on the end-to-end encrypted meetings platform Webex. Captions are available.

    The workshop will take place in English.

    You can opt to have a companion with you (someone to support you, like a PA, carer, or friend: not someone else who is asking us for support).

    You workshop can be up-to 2hrs. You choose the length (1hr+).

    Your workshop will be confidential and not discussed outside of the Care Practice Collective.

    You can request a workshop, but there is not guarantee we’ll be able to offer you support.
