Certificate Program Terms (2026 Cohort)

“You” refers to the program participant. “We” refers to NEUROMANCERS.

Once your application has been submitted, you agree to these terms in full. You will need to sign and check your agreement to these terms in order to submit your application, so please read in full.

Attendance & Certification 

1. You agree that to the best of your ability you will complete all necessary steps to achieve certification. 

2. You agree that if you do not complete all necessary steps to achieving certification, you may not receive a certificate. 

3. You agree that you meet the entry criteria for this program. If you have any doubts, you will reach out to NEUROMANCERS to confirm. 

4. You agree that you have the intention, means, and availability to attend all, if not most, of the proposed dates. 

5. You recognise and understand that all dates and times are subject to change and participants will be notified as early as possible to any date or time changes.
    

6. You agree that in the case you miss any workshop, module, session, meeting, or deadline, you will catch up as soon as possible. You will communicate your efforts to the program leader/s. 

Payment & Fees

1. We offer this program on a sliding-scale and allow participants to choose their total investment (minimum £500). You agree that the amount you choose to invest is the minimum you must invest in the course. The total you set is binding and non-negotiable.

2. You agree that following your notification of acceptance onto the course, you will begin or complete your payment within seven (7) days. If paying in instalments, you agree to complete your full investment before the set deadline. 

3. You agree and acknowledge that once any payments are made they are non-refundable.

4. You understand that, if needed, you can reach out to NEUROMANCERS to cancel your place. Cancellations can only occur before the registration closing date.
   
   Cancellations are subject to a fee of 20% of your total agreed investment, or a minimum of £100 if eligible for our 18-25 scholarship. You must complete payment within seven (7) days of reaching out to cancel.
   
   If you have already completed 20% or more of your agreed total, you do not have to pay an additional amount on top of this. Any payments already made are not refundable.

5. You understand that after registration closes, cancellations are not possible.
   
   You understand that in this case you have two options, for both of which payment is due by the deadline communicated in your notification of acceptance email.
   
   1) You can postpone your place to the next available cohort, in acknowledgment that you may also pay the difference for any fee increases with future cohorts.
   
   2) You can withdraw without postponement, however you will be required to complete the program payment in full.
    

6. You must complete the full payment to the set deadline in your notification of acceptance email.
   
   If your full investment has not been paid when due then you shall pay interest on the overdue amount from the due date until payment is made in full at two per cent (2%) per annum more than the base lending rate of the Bank of England.
   
   For example, if the Bank of England base rate is 4% you’ll be charged 2% interest on top of this - so a total of 6% interest alongside the owed remainder of you total payment.
   

7. You understand that NEUROMANCERS will work with each individual to find solutions. We may offer amendments to these terms in writing in exceptional circumstances and at our discretion, but this is not to be expected or relied upon.

Practical Placement 

1. You understand that the course expectations include a commitment to the entirety of the program, including your Practical Placement. 

2. You understand that this placement does not mean you are an employee of NEUROMANCERS, but you are completing this as a volunteer placement as part of the educational program. 

3. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by NEUROMANCERS, the placement is for the purposes of the program only.

Safeguarding & Conduct

1. You agree to notify NEUROMANCERS to any element of your personal or legal history that could morally or legally impact or affect your ability to support vulnerable adults during the program. Furthermore, you agree to complete a DBS check for safeguarding purposes.

2. You agree to keep confidential any information shared within the program, including your Practical Placement. This includes information about fellow program trainees, any peers you are supporting, and all workshops and learning materials. You understand that sharing such information outside of your cohort will lead to removal from the program without refund.
    

3. You understand and agree not to share, sell, reprint, or republish any of our materials and resources, including written files, video files, audio files, images, and more. This includes sharing with friends, family, and colleagues. If they would like access, they must seek separate access and register individually.

4. You agree to respect the community guidelines proposed in the Introductory Workshop and beyond. You will behave in a respectful, non-discriminatory manner towards all fellow participants, course leaders, and NEUROMANCERS members. 

Access & Support 

1. You agree to identify any access needs you may have and clearly share those in writing with NEUROMANCERS. You understand that NEUROMANCERS will support those needs to the best of our ability, but may not be able to do so entirely. 

2. You agree that you will be provided a point of contact for the duration of the course and any issues should be communicated directly to this individual. 
    

3. You understand and recognise that this course is an educational certification program, not a qualification. 
    

4. You understand that NEUROMANCERS and the program leader/s reserve the right to remove any participants in violation of any of the listed terms, and any additional NEUROMANCERS terms, without refund.

Data

1. You understand that NEUROMANCERS will handle your data carefully. Your data can be amended or removed at your request, except any data we may need to run our program.
   
   You agree that NEUROMANCERS can and will use your data to contact you about the program as well as share future opportunities, issue certificates, and similar activities. Once the program is complete, we can remove or anonymise all your recorded data from our systems at your written request.  

2. By participating in the program, you consent to taking and recording of photographs, videos, and/or audio recordings that may be made that may contain your image, your voice, your writing, and/or your likeness.
   
   Please note that these materials may be shared with other participants who have registered for the program. This data may also be used on our social media, although additional consent will be obtained in these circumstances.
